Audit - Manager/Senior Manager - Newcastle

PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) is looking to recruit an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join our Northern practice in Newcastle. Our Northern practice has an annual fee income of over £160 million and employs around 2,000 people across all the main business streams. The region contains some of the most important commercial and financial centres outside of London and we are the largest professional services advisory firm in the area. Our client base is diverse - Consumer Industrial Products, retail, automotive and engineering industries dominate but there is strong representation from the financial services sector. Our Newcastle office employs over 300 highly qualified staff, dedicated to providing clients with exceptional levels of service and advice. About the role
In this position you will have a key management role on audit assignments where you will utilise and further develop your knowledge and skills. The role will allow you the opportunity to have exposure to special work and you will be involved with training, managing and appraising staff. There are a number of additional areas that Managers/Senior Managers can get involved in. Some of these include:
- Graduate and Experienced Recruitment interviewing
- Career Coach to a number of Senior Associates
- Tutoring on a variety of courses
- Group Leader of one of the Business Unit social groups
- Champion for various initiatives Additional Information
Requirements
- ACA qualified or equivalent
- Experience of financial reporting frameworks such as UK GAAP or IFRS and auditing frameworks such as UK ISA's
- Extensive experience of management of the audit from planning to supervision and review of the process, across a diverse range of assignments
- Experienced in supervising and developing staff
- Flexibility in your approach to meeting goals as part of the team
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels
- A proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships and providing exceptional client service
- A proactive approach to problem solving and delivering client solutions
- Candidates will also be required to demonstrate the ability to contribute to new initiatives, whether building relationships with target clients or other business development activities
- A reasonable degree of flexibility in relation to travel will be expected to serve the regional nature of our client base
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and organisational abilities
- Well developed listening and questioning techniques
- Action oriented with a strong desire for continuous improvement
