We are seeking a full time qualified Social Worker with significant post qualifying experience, ideally gained in a multi-disciplinary community mental health team or within a secure hospital environment, to shape our social work service.

Applicants will play an active clinical role working with patients with complex needs including severe and enduring mental health problems and personality disorder.

You should be self motivated, have a good understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (plus subsequent revisions) and other statutory legislation pertinent to the role, including Child Protection.

You will preferably have experience in secure settings and have well-established clinical skills working within a multi-disciplinary team. You will need to be enthusiastic, reactive, with robust risk management/ safeguarding skills and be willing to develop your skills further with this challenging and extremely rewarding client group. You must be registered with the GSCC.

Essential duties will include report writing, attending Mental Heath Tribunals/ C.P.A meetings, liaison with community facilitates, assisting placements, working with clients' families and carers and attending MAPPA meetings/liaison with dangerous persons units.
