As part of our continued and impressive growth, we are currently recruiting for an Electro Mechanical Fitter who will be based at our London site to test & repair heavy electrical rotating equipment . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Duties include but are not limited to: Testing, fault finding and dismantling of AC induction motors, reassembling and testing. High Voltage Electrical Rewinder Hackney, East London Sulzer Dowding & Mills are a global leader in the repair and maintenance of high voltage electrical motors and generators, and related services across several industries. As part of our continued and impressive growth, we are currently recruiting for a High Voltage Electrical Rewinder who will be based at our East London site to rewind and test various kinds of high voltage electro-mechanical equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: *Inspect electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions *Test condition of windings *Document all relevant data specific to unit's electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability *Dismantle and / or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment *Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions. *Rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment, including single-phase, three-phase, dc fields, armatures, wound stators and transformers. Observe proper insulating techniques and / or requirements during rewinding. *Test rewound electro-mechanical equipment and document test results. *Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, bake ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems and various hand held power and non-power tools. *Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection) *Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor. *Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor. *Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis. As part of our continued and impressive growth, we are currently recruiting for a Works Manager who will be based at our London site to manage, control and supervise all operational activities of the Workshop, including the scheduling and coordination of the flow of work between the departments (including the office) to expedite production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: *Assist the Branch Manager with the overall running of the Branch. *Leading, managing and mentoring the departmental supervisors. *Upholding long term customer relationships that have been established by the Customer Service Representatives. *Assisting the Branch Manager in the recruitment, training, development, performance management, discipline, motivation and safe working practices of workshop staff. *Identify training needs for workshop staff and ensure workshop staff remain up to date with all Work Instructions. *Documenting jobs to include health and safety compliance and quality assurance. *Quoting and estimating of job to the level designated by the Branch Manager. *Contract reviews on customers' acceptance of quotations. *Understand the work flow in each section of the Branch and work with Section Supervisors in the scheduling of jobs and allocation of resources so maximum efficiency and economy of operations is achieved with each job. *Control the flow of jobs through the workshop including; scheduling, priorities, progress updates and productivity. *Review of master production schedule and work orders by holding regular work in progress meetings. *Revision of production schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and the availability and capability of workers, parts, materials, machines and equipment. *Compilation of reports when required. *Ensuring and checking that all costs are on each job and that quoted work scope has been satisfactorily met. *Ensure that labour time spent on the job is reasonable. Assess and manage time sheets if designated by Branch Manager. *Assisting Branch Manager in the costing of job folders on completion of work *Utilizing Branch resources (e.g. Office Supervisor and QESH Officer), oversee the Branch apprentices, ensuring training meets course and company requirements, log books are completed, rotation through each section has been achieved, and there is adequate supervision. *Coordination of shifts, overtime, leave applications and apprentices block college release to ensure maximum coverage for required labour. *Ensure that the Company QESH systems are adhered to in the Workshop. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE *Technical apprenticeship working on electrical rotating machinery *Proven management/supervisory experience in service related industry with technical knowledge of electrical rotating equipment *Excellent communication skills This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market leading organisation during a period of growth.
