As a member of the Operations Finance team you will play a key role in supporting the leadership team in making key business decisions. You will ensure plans are in place to ensure customer expectations are met and business plans are delivered.
Primary responsibilities:
• Working in close partnership with Operations to develop and optimise short and medium terms business plans
• Reforecasting as required based on refined planning assumptions and changes in demand
• Reviewing forecast accuracy, and make proactive recommendations to minimize variances
• Analysing performance data and developing insights into business performance vs. plan

• Strong interpersonal skills; including written and oral communication skills

Senior Management Accountant
You’ll be working with the Management Reporting Team to provide the information and analytical skills needed to achieve the strategic objectives of the business and to provide the operational teams with expertise and guidance on all financial matters.

You'll proactively support the business through the production and distribution of monthly operational management accounts, memorandum accounts and develop further financial and non-financial indicator reports, ensuring the accuracy of reports at all times. You’ll also participate in the distribution of debt reports and potentially handle open book customer requirements and issues.
Key to the role will be your ability to highlight performance issues to the business, identifying and maximising the profitability of the business and co-ordinating business planning by assisting in the production of effective forecasting and budgeting. This will be supported by the development of close working relationships with the Operational Finance team. You will also play a key role in the ongoing development of financial systems to support the business, including, the proactive production of reporting and the production of interval, benchmarking and performance league tables.
To succeed in this role you will need:
- Experience within a commercially focused finance team, working in close liaison with senior management.
- A high degree of commercial acumen is essential, together with the ability to think through the numbers and communicate effectively the interpretation of key issues in a clear, concise manner.
- Experience of working with a variety of complex contract formats, including exposure to Government/MOD/Public sector work and contracts that are of sufficient size and complexity to warrant dedicated finance support
- Experience of Integrated or Multiservice Soft/Hard service sectors would be an advantage
- Good education to at least level 6 (eg, degree) or equivalent
- Appropriate Accounting qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with at least 2 years post qualified experience in a medium/large organisation
- Strong people management skills, managing through a team and working effectively with colleagues in the division
- A clear thinker, commercially focused, calm under pressure, and an excellent communicator with the ability to think through a problem and deliver sound solutions
- Good influencing skills to senior manager level, able to produce and use clear logical data in a structured manner to help shape business decisions.
