Core Responsibilities The overall purpose of this role is to provide a timely, professional and high-quality service to clients in the management of professional indemnity cases. Senior Claims Handlers will typically work on professional indemnity cases with a value of up to 250k and/or more complex cases with, for example, coverage issues (e.g. construction/architects/consulting engineers claims). Within this role you will manage a varied professional indemnity caseload, which will include developing a knowledge of legal issues in respect of a variety of professions as well as building an understanding of each profession's procedures and regulatory framework. Your day to day role will involve setting up of new files by reviewing incoming instructions and all associated tasks with the support from the administrator, reviewing new cases and ultimately establishing the best strategy. As such you'll be drafting correspondence to brokers/insured party requesting additional information as and when required to resolve claims, review panel reports and obtain instructions where appropriate and maintaining ongoing contact with the clients throughout the process. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining client relationships and ensure that the client's brand and methodology are promoted effectively in all dealing with third parties.
