Role: providing a high level of services to existing clients and supporting the expansion of the client base; building and maintaining client relationships; managing the delivery of tax services ensuring technical excellence; reviewing computations, liaising with specialists on complex technical issues; managing and developing junior members of the team, being a professional role model; ensuring an up-to-date understanding of all technical issues; supporting Senior Managers and Partners on advisory work and transactions; supporting Partners in providing efficient tax planning advice. Candidates will be CTA and or ACA/ACCA qualified, working at Manager Level already, of an Assistant Manager seeking to move to a more senior role. Our client is a well respected Financial Services provider to high profile clients, who due to continued expansion are looking to appoint a qualified (CTA) Tax Manager to join their Kent team. The role: you will be responsible for managing the Tax Advisory and compliance needs for a portfolio of clients; provide proactive suggestions to develop business and increase profitability; providing support to the Head of Tax Solutions. The person: essentially you will be CTA qualified with PQE; ideally your background will include a banking, investment management or Financial Services organisation. The benefits: our client offers the opportunity to work in an interesting business that shows long-term growth, a competitive benefits package, bonus and base salary up to 65k per annum plus competitive benefits package. Duties: modelling fund restructuring, to calculate expected impacts on unit prices and policyholders; assessing and calculating impacts on LBG shareholder funds; ensuring due governance is exerted over impacts, including TCF; assessing operational impacts, highlighting risks and working with TPA (State Street) to ensure that BAU is not impacted; gaining clearances/working with External Advisors and Legal teams; providing backfill for key SMEs who are also required to provide input to project lime; tax regime changes project; analysing impacts of new tax rules that must be implemented into operating model by 1 January 2013; supporting delivery into operational model; working with TPA (State Street) to change systems/processes; working with Group Tax and Actuarial to consider technical implications, and devise fit for purpose deliverables; ensure that Project AMRLI (outsourcing LBG work to State Street) addresses any changes required as a result of these mandatory changes; providing backfill for key SMEs who are also required to provide input to this Mandatory Project. Essential skills: investment tax technical skills/experience; life tax technical skills/experience; project implementation experience; accounting and tax qualifications; work experience in Financial Services environment (life insurance and authorised funds). Desirable skills: investment systems knowledge; working within formal change management model; practical delivery of previous tax technical change/projects.
