As part of our continued and impressive growth, we are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer for our offshore site services team at the Aberdeen site. The purpose of this position is to provide electrical and technical support for the offshore division, with duties to include, but not be restricted to:-
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Producing quotations for offshore work, liaising with customers, ordering materials, organising and supervising projects.
Scheduling new and ongoing offshore work as required.
Supervision of offshore workers.
Provision of electrical support for offshore workers
Provision of technical support specifically around condition monitoring
Development of project work
Development of working procedures in support of client requirements
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates will have served a recognised electrical apprenticeship
Full UK or Equivalent recognised Driving Licence
Ideally, you will be Certified to work on and have knowledge of equipment suitable for application in hazardous area locations ie.CompEx Certificate or equivalent
TECHNICAL SKILLS
You will be able to provide technical support with regards to offshore Condition Monitoring
Your interpersonal and communication skills will be of the highest calibre
Proven Project Management skills in a similar field
MS Office skills, including MS Project

Excellent knowledge of their chosen discipline and their ability to co-ordinate and communicate across engineering disciplines is essential. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairing and manufacturing shafts for electric motors etc.
Repairing bearing housings
Spray welding and sleeving
Milling
Accurate measuring with verniers, micrometers etc.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Recognised apprenticeship as a Turner/Fitter, preferably with more Turner Bias
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Previous fitting experience
Experience in balancing, vibration analysis and laser alignment would be a distinct advantage
Experience in Manual lathes is essential
Strong discipline in engineering measuring

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Undertake and complete the following tasks
• Provision of support to the main workshops with man power and cover, as well as support for offshore /maintenance depts.
• Carry out diametrical checks with micrometres and other measuring equipment
• Undertake repairs to mechanical components utilising manual machine tools
• Undertake reclamations of mechanical components utilising thermal spraying and standard reclamation techniques e.g. boring and bushing
• Rough and finish machining of components
• Be able to understand engineering drawings
• Have basic health & safety knowledge applicable to a machine shop
• Have basic fitting knowledge and experience on rotating plant
• Have good communication skills
• Be pro-active in workshop development
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
• Experience with manual machine tools i.e. lathes, milling machines and borers
• Experience with the repair and overhaul of rotating machinery
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent
RELATED EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience within a workshop environment; semi-skilled would be considered
• Strong and proven background working with rotating electrical machines or mechanical equivalent
