Job Title: Pre-Sales Systems Engineer Location: Feltham or City Office, UK preferred This role will be working within the UKI Public Sector National Security Team. As such this role will be ideal for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong knowledge of Cisco Foundation Technology such as Routing and Switching or Datacentre technologies. The individual should also have a strong interest in business development and proactive engagement with a range of clients across Government. The individual will report to the Systems Engineering Manager for National Security and Central Government. The candidate should ideally be southern or midlands based and prepared to operate within central London and South England. A knowledge of all the key Cisco technology architectures such as Borderless Networks, Collaboration, and Data Centre/Virtualisation would be highly useful along with knowledge of business drivers in Government, knowledge of the Government vertical market and previous pre-sales experience and a distinct advantage. Responsibilities: - Provide technical and sales support for accounts in assigned territory. - Focus on strategic accounts - Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities. - Consult with customers to understand their needs and design effective solutions - Deliver technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. - Keep up-to-date on the market, competitive solutions, products and services. - Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team and provide consultative support in their area of specialization to other Systems Engineers. Skills and Experience Required: - In-depth knowledge of baseline Systems Engineering skills in LAN Routing and Switching technology and Datacenter is highly desirable. - Must have good underlying knowledge of the Cisco Architectures - Competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings. - Proven track record of customer driven data networking consultancy is essential. - Cisco certification of CCDP is highly desirable. - SC - Security Clearance or DV - Clearance highly desirable. - Strong relationship management skills - Strong communications & presentation skills - Strong negotiation skills - Comfortable applying business acumen and financial expertise to assist identify & qualify selling opportunities as part of an account team. - Uses Return On Investment concepts to justify Cisco solutions - Demonstrable ability to drive adoption of Cisco technology solutions through channel partners, and into customers. - Knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. - Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team. dv sc security cleared presales engineer ccdp

Job Description The role will be based around evaluating and defining strategies, roadmaps and implementation of new client computing based services and solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across IT and the business, coordinating the team's technology road map and requirements to ensure that implementation efforts are aligned with enterprise-wide strategies and standards. Responsibilities: * Defining client services future roadmaps and strategies around a wide range of technologies and capabilities * Developing technical prototype environments and concepts * Participate in evolving and influencing industry trends, technologies and direction, benchmarking * Evaluating future technologies and interpreting business requirements, strategies and mapping them to IT capabilities * Building business partnerships across the various IT teams, business units, vendors and clients * Ensuring compliance of architecture principles, policies and standards Technical Skills Required: * Strong industry experience with MCSE, or other systems engineering certification * A strong background in several of the following at an architectural level: o Server (Windows Server, Unix, SQL) o Desktop (Windows OS, Active Directory, Mac OSX, Software/Package deployment) o Desktop Virtualisation (VMWare, Citrix) o Device management experience would be valuable (SCCM, Altiris) o Desktop Application Knowledge - Office 2003, 2007 and 2010 o Security o High Availability/Business Continuity (Clustering, Load balancing, failover) o Awareness of systems management and operational support tools * Experience with Mobile Smartphone platforms and working knowledge of internetworking technology (CCNA level preferred) * Ability to drive technology direction, evaluate performance of solutions and identify new technologies that can improve/fill established gap areas Soft Skill Required * Passionate about driving new technology solutions * Good global team player with strong leadership skills * Excellent client focus and client facing skills * Strong analytical and methodical problem solving skills * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Manage Stakeholder Relationships (e.g. identify and leverage stakeholders; clarify expectations) * Planning & Prioritization - create Roadmap (e.g. identify and prioritize projects and/or tracks of work and translate into integrated delivery schedule and timeline) * Strong documentation capabilities with the ability to write positional papers, white papers, policies, best practises and strategy documents desktop architect mobile smartphone virtualisation citrix sccm
