Senior Advisers within a leading City-based IFA firm are looking for bright, motivated individuals to join their Graduate Training Scheme.
The initial role will be as an IFA Assistant/Paraplanner in which the successful graduates will be helping the advisors prepare for client meetings. This usually includes portfolio analysis and review; product and provider research; risk profiling/fund selection; marketing and administration etc.
Alongside this the graduate will receive the training and technical support required to ensure the successful negotiation of the ‘Diploma in Financial Planning’.
This incorporates exams in RO1 – Financial Regulation & Ethics, RO2 – Investment Principles and Risk, RO3 – Personal Taxation, RO4 – Pensions & Retirement Planning, RO5 – Financial Planning and RO6 – Financial Planning Practice. Importantly, all the costs of this process are borne by the scheme.
Intensive, ongoing client-facing and advisory skills will be developed in order to allow the graduate to build a successful and lucrative career in financial services.
Once qualified, the graduate will have the opportunity to become an Independent Financial Adviser within our prestigious city office.
Our client-base consists of professional, high-net-worth individuals who mainly work within law and investment banking. We also work exclusively on an ‘in-house’ basis which means our clients come to see us in our offices.
Less time wasted travelling to and from meetings means more time to see clients and provide them with a professional service. These two things combined result in a very lucrative opportunity for the successful graduate.
We are in a position to help our clients with all aspects of their finances from recommending the best savings accounts through to structured portfolios designed for short, medium and long term tax efficient investment strategies and contingency planning.
Furthermore, our independent status allows us to find our clients the best and most appropriate products and services available for their needs as opposed to being ‘tied’ to a provider or panel.
Finally, this opportunity provides excellent remuneration potential for the right candidate. One of our core principles is to reward effort and ability in a clear and transparent way and to allow those who work within our group to achieve their goals.

Six figure package
National Express is a FTSE 250 listed international transport group with a strong brand and heritage and an appetite for acquisition. They are a leading transport provider whose core services operate bus, coach and rail services across the UK, North America, Spain and Morocco. Every year more than 800 million journeys are made across the National Express network.
This role is one of two halves; supporting the rail bid team as well as the Group FP&A team. The rail division and its growth is an important component of the Group’s strategy. It is already a key partner to the government’s infrastructure and a leader in its field. The bid team is now expanding and seeking an experienced modeller and analyst to work on new bid wins. The team has a relatively flat structure which will give the new incumbent a fair amount of autonomy. The second aspect of the role is for you to act as an integral support to the Group finance team, working mostly on bidding, business development and M&A related projects.
This varied role will include the following tasks:
• During UK rail bids, you will work closely with the wider rail bid finance team to develop and own the financial and other models to be submitted to the Department of Transport. Interactive rail bid models will provide an interesting complexity to include performance, revenue, rolling stock or staffing models. You will also need to keep up to date with best practice and regulations as well as appraising business cases and managing external consultants.
• The Group financial planning and analysis element of the role will primarily include supporting bidding, business development and M&A activity by modelling of bids, valuing and modelling acquisition targets and general transaction support as required during the due diligence process. Other involvement could include working with the Group FP&A team on a variety of analysis projects and could range from assisting in project finance, capital and other investment analysis.
Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
• A graduate who is ideally a fully qualified accountant. An experienced financial modeller who has developed and reviewed complex financial models. Has worked on rail bids prior and therefore has knowledge of the UK rail industry and PPP process along with strong Excel skills.
• Exposure to corporate finance work would be beneficial. You need to be a self-starter, inquisitive and able to work in a complex and sometimes pressurised environment. Ambitious and looking for your next move up; either within the bid team or wider Group finance function.

Contract to run until November 2014 (maternity cover)
Based Tate Britain, Millbank
Salary up to £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience
With four major sites across England, Tate holds the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day as well as international modern and contemporary art. This is an exciting time to join as Tate are embarking on their next stage of development, which will see the completion of Tate Modern and the further development of the visitor facilities and gallery spaces at Tate Britain. With all these developments, Tate aims to increase public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of this art.
Tate is seeking to appoint a Head of Finance on a contract basis until November 2014 to cover maternity leave.
Reporting into the Director of Finance, the Head of Finance will lead a team of 4 direct reports (and 15 indirect reports) in the financial management of Tate and the Tate subsidiary businesses, heading up all aspects of management and financial accounting and financial planning & analysis. This is a senior, strategic role within the business – the Head of Finance will directly engage with Tate’s senior executive leadership and trustees in the provision of high-level financial information and key strategic financial business decision support. The Head of Finance will also take a lead on a number of key strategic initiatives in the short-term – including the implementation of commitment reporting as a result of the recent introduction of purchase ordering, and implementing the spending round review for 2015/16.
The successful candidate will:

- have a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams within a complex organisation.
- have experience contributing at a strategic level as part of a Senior Management Team.
- have interpersonal skills of the highest calibre and the ability to influence and challenge at all levels of a business.
Tate is one of the most prestigious arts brands in the world, and this is an outstanding opportunity to work with them at a level which will allow you to really positively impact both the day-to-day effectiveness of their operation and their broader strategic agenda.
