As part of our continued and impressive growth, a great opportunity has arisen for an Electronics Bench Repair Engineer to carry out repair and diagnosis of faults of electronics to component level, as well as routine service work on motor control systems, and installation / commissioning of Variable Speed Drives at customer sites. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Selecting, programming and operating AC and DC inverter type motor drives. Service, repair and installation of electronic variable speed drives Fault finding and repair of circuit boards, electromechanical systems and assemblies to board or component level Reverse engineering, modification, design & re manufacture of equipment; replicating or enhancing functionality whilst overcoming obsolescence Attend customer's sites for the installation, service and commission variable speed drives. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND Applicants must have a knowledge of repair, installation, service, and commissioning of a variety of electrical and electronic equipment to include Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, Instrumentation and Control panels. You will be able to show strong knowledge and application of disciplines related to one of AC and DC Drives, Servo Drives, Instrumentation Controls, PLC and Automation. Strong Maintenance background (preferred) Working knowledge of electrical control systems & switchgear Conversance with schematics, wiring diagrams and ladder diagrams Commercial awareness and a strong electronic engineering background to include the repair, design and manufacture of control panels Previous experience in the repair of variable speed drives and inverters, preferably to component level Ability to attend customer's sites for the installation, service and commission of variable speed drives Product knowledge and experience of manufacturer equipment: ABB, Danfoss, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Schneider, Vacon, WEG Capability of working to tight deadlines and ability to plan workload Responsive breakdown callouts are also required from engineers on a rota basis.
