Canoe Instructor: share your passion for paddling with our young guests in Southern France! Our Canoe Instructors are the heart and soul of the PGL experience. This role is a great opportunity to share your love of canoeing and the outdoors with our guests at Lou Valagran, our children's activity centre in Southern France. PGL is the UK's leading provider of residential activity holidays and study courses for young people. More than 400,000 young guests enjoy a PGL trip each year, and we're looking for energetic staff team members to make that happen. Lou Valagran is situated on the banks of the River Cze in the stunning Ardche region of Southern France, with direct access to the centre's private beach. The local area has a variety of activities to offer, including Rafting, Canoeing, Climbing, Via Ferrata, Mountain Biking and more! With the historic areas of Avignon and Nimes an hour away there is plenty for staff to do in their spare time. PGL Canoe Instructors focus primarily on introducing our guests to the world of paddling. You'll be leading introductory sessions, briefing guests on safety, organising games and making sure your group has a fun, safe time on the water. Canoe Instructors at Lou Valagran spend time paddling on the flat, calm waters of the River Cze; however the majority of paddling will be the two-day descent of the adrenalin-busting Ardche. As well as working with like-minded people, you will benefit from the training on offer. Every staff member is offered Apprenticeship programmes in Active Leisure and Learning to help you get qualified 'on the job'. We're looking for a keen paddler who already holds their UKCC Level 1 Coach Award and 3* Open Canoe Award. The ideal candidate will also have an up-to-date BCU membership and CRB. Our centre location means plenty of opportunity to paddle in some amazing places during your free time, surrounded by stunning scenery. You are also eligible to apply for a place on our NVQ Level 2 programme. This provides an industry-leading package of training, support and qualifications, enabling people to join PGL at a range of experience levels and will equip you with the skills and confidence to perform your role. There are no age restrictions on our apprenticeship programme. We offer a competitive wage of 372.67 p/month, with meals, on-site accommodation, uniform, full training and return transport to resort from a UK departure point and more: all provided free of charge! This position is available immediately through until the end of August 2012. For further information regarding this role please contact Will Barker on the number or email address provided. Click APPLY ONLINE to be redirected to our website: Here you can create your own 'My PGL' account and complete an online application form. Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure, which PGL will pay for. You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position.
