The Finance team has a pivotal role to play in identifying and implementing improvement strategies across the function.
A key member of the team, you’ll have every opportunity to use your skills and energy to the full, providing a high quality management accounting and reporting service to budget holders and sponsors. With responsibility for reporting on our entire financials (equating to c£6bn of income, £2bn of operating expenses and £4.5bn of capex per year), you'll also undertake consolidation and analysis of financial results, forecasts and business plans.
You'll need:
• Full or part accountancy qualification
• Proven ability to engage clearly and persuasively with non financial customers
• Plenty of drive and charisma
• Determination to continually strive for improvement

The job is to manage part time fundraisers working on the cycle paths of Lancaster to spread the word of Sustrans!
Successful applicants will be passionate cyclists who will be able to communicate the message of Sustrans and gather support through direct debit donations.
Sustrans provides creative, innovative and practical solutions to the transport challenges affecting us all. Sustrans was founded in Bristol in 1977, to help people travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment.

HOURS:
Monday-Friday, 4pm-7pm. Will extend to 8pm during lighter summer months.

As Finance Manager your challenge will be to provide overall financial support to the Business Unit Head to maintain financial integrity and support the period review process. Acting as the link between budget holders and our centralised accounting team, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, consistency and visibility of the financial health of the business unit, and to constantly challenge the budget holder’s financial performance and outlook. You will need to understand and identify opportunities to maximise all possible income streams and reduce exposure to outgoing performance penalty payments, to drive consistency and efficiencies in working practices and create synergies where possible.
You’ll need:
• To be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject area and accredited professional qualification e.g. finance
• To be able to travel between key route locations as required
• To have strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• To be able to demonstrate innovative thinking in taking actions to improve performance and problem solving
• The ability to influence decision making using your effective and proven negotiating skills
