Introduction
Blue Prism is a high growth enterprise software company with plans to expand in the UK and internationally, having recently incorporated a subsidiary in the US. Blue Prism is pioneering Robotic automation software for the clerical back office. Traditionally business operations have had to choose between onshore or offshore staff, Blue Prism is a third sourcing option that enables a virtual back office capability for mundane rules based tasks. Business Operations can create their own IT integration and process automation initiatives without the major overheads associated with a core IT program and delegate tasks to a team of software “robots”.
Blue Prism markets its Software to large enterprises and has already secured an impressive cross industry customer base.
Job Specification
The company has so far managed its finances using external advisers and an internal administrator. With the global aspirations and an increasing range of financial reporting, modelling and control requirements, the company wishes to recruit a full time Financial Controller with board potential.
Reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for helping develop and implementing the financial strategy of the group (including the US subsidiary) and direct input into strategic business decisions .
Work with the CEO and the board to develop a business model, business plans and financial forecasts and track company performance against such plans and forecasts.
Help to manage investor relations.
Produce the monthly management accounts for the parent company, the US subsidiary and the group, whilst evolving the existing MI. Initially, this will be very hands-on as the support team is small.
Develop and evolve internal financial controls to protect the company’s financial position without stifling growth.
Provide and present financial information to Blueprism customers and prospects during procurement due diligence.
Oversee legal affairs – NDAs, customer contracts etc in conjunction with the company’s external contract lawyer, IP lawyer and corporate lawyer.
Secretarial – keep company books up to date, investment agreements, articles of association etc.

HR administration
Insurance arrangements
Pension scheme administration
EMI share option scheme administration

Person Specification
Appropriate accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
Experience of a high growth tech company, preferably in enterprise software
Experience of liaison with third party investors, preferably venture capitalists.
Commercially-minded with experience of fund raising (venture capital and bank finance) and M&A.
Knowledge of software company standard metrics e.g. NASDAQ/AIM listed software companies desirable
Experience of international operations and accounting, especially the US desirable.
Some knowledge of contract, IP and corporate law desirable.
Good presentation skills.
Enthusiastic, intelligent and self motivated.
Not afraid to “muck in” and help with all levels of financial administration.

You will ideally be a fully qualified member of a recognised accounting body (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
