The purpose of the role will be to undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with all relevant process, quality and other requirements, supplying specialist advice and support across projects and to other functions as appropriate. Accountabilities include: * Responsible for generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements and other constraints. * Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures. * Plan, control and deliver assigned projects or work packages, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan and budget. * Support the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids. * Define appropriate test programs for design verification and make results-based recommendations on their outcome, including suggestions for improving test/diagnosis process. * Generate applicable interface requirements and other specifications as required. * Present work in various forums as required. * Keep up to date in relevant technical areas; develop skills and capabilities and supply support and expertise to others as required. * Act as the main point of contact with customers (internal and external) and/or suppliers and collaborators on assigned engineering matters. * Lead engineering support activities in the field and for assigned products; develop documentation to support in-service use. * Lead a small sub-team as required.
