About the role We provide a full suite of risk and capital management services covering the full range of risk disciplines, assisting our clients in: Risk management frameworks and operations: Designing the framework within which risk is managed in the business, and building the infrastructure to support the delivery of risk management in the business Risk regulation: Understanding and responding to risk-related regulatory developments Risk quantification, valuation, and modelling: Leveraging quantitative tools and techniques to support business decisions Risk technology: Design and implementation of technology to support the timely and effective management of risk Specialist risk disciplines: Design and implementation of tools, methodologies, and processes relating to credit risk, market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and insurance risk, as well as capital management This role is focussed on credit and credit risk management, although wider experience in risk management will prove advantageous. The role will require experience and understanding of credit risk management frameworks and an understanding of the developing regulatory framework in relation to credit risk. This is likely to include experience of the key elements of a credit risk framework including, risk rating and limits, portfolio analysis and the general systems and controls for the management of credit risk across a firm. Experience across any major assets class is relevant however corporate and investment banking credit risk experience is particularly desirable. At consultant grade, the role consists of delivering projects for the client as part of a team, and may include leading small teams. Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks and projects. They would also need to have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm. An impressive track record in credit and credit risk management, with experience in one or more of the following: * Practical experience of counterparty, collateral and credit lending/exposure management * Overall credit risk management operating models including core governance, controls, analytical frameworks and infrastructure * Credit risk policy, rating and limit frameworks * Key portfolio credit risk parameters, performance measures and KPIs * Credit collections, recoveries and provisioning frameworks * Credit risk stress testing and contingency planning * Internal and regulatory credit reporting * Credit risk data requirements and challenges Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and industry developments in particular including the latest Basel and CRD challenges Practical experience in industry preferably with experience of mid-large corporate and investment banking credit risk. Experience in the financial services sector, within capital markets, retails & commercial banking, or insurance. Previous consulting experience desirable but not essential A good understanding of the role of risk management in helping an organisation achieves its business goals. Effective communication and presentation skills Good interpersonal skills to support working with colleagues and clients.
