The Commercial Executive is responsible for reviewing and offering advice on our appointments with clients, contracts, bids and other documentation within the construction industry, with an emphasis on the commercial aspects. There is potential to develop the role into dealing with property leases and general corporate matters. Under the direction of the Head of Commercial your key responsibilities will be to * Prepare contracts, agreements, deeds, orders, notices, statements and other documentation. * Undertake appointment and contract reviews and advise on pre and post-contract issues and claims (entitlements) within your areas of responsibility. * Work closely with the Head of Commercial and assist in all areas as reasonably directed by them. * Assist with administrative tasks such as keeping standard documents up to date, keeping records and statistics, progress monitoring of casework. * Be responsible for the commercial assistants (if any). * Endeavour to develop staff for whom you are responsible (if any) to their full potential. * Conduct regular performance development reviews for all direct reports. We are looking for a candidate who is legally qualified with post qualification experience, coupled with extensive experience of reviewing, negotiating and agreeing contractual terms. Or you may have degree in a Quantity Surveying or Engineering discipline with a second degree/qualification or interest in Law and be professionally qualified in a construction discipline (CEng, RICS, RIBA, and CIOB), with experience in contractual terms and dispute resolution related areas.
