Further information (including a list of our offices in the UK and Switzerland) may be found at: Background to Unified Communications This is an extremely busy and demanding role that sits within the core service operational infrastructure team reporting directly to the infrastructure manager. The current team comprises of 5 people (some remote) supporting a number of platforms, legacy and new, such as PBX, IPT and various versions of Exchange starting from 2003 inc, industry mobility brands such as Blackberry and GOOD . It is here that Deloitte place an extremely important level of availability and stability around smartphone devices. There is also a lync pilot due to start April 2012 which will form the strategic foundations of our Lync roadmap over the next 18 / 24 months Key Responsibilities This is a highly rewarding and challenging position for a highly experienced unified communications Manager, providing, operational and technical management across a truly enterprise platform. You will be responsible for all aspects of unified communications ensuring your team maintains and continually demonstrates the highest levels of service availability 24x7x365. The percentage of time spent between technical and management should be roughly about the same depending on the requirements at that time. You will also lead and be involved in the design and deployment of major system upgrades and assist in the design of new solutions. As part of our continuous improvement culture, this role will entail constant documentation of solutions and administration of service delivery policy and processes. Deloitte operates a global messaging platform where each member firm enjoys its own level of autonomy. However, at times there will be the need to engage and share ideas on functionality or troubleshooting problems with your peers. Performance management will form a key part of you management tasks, from prioritising tasks lists to developing and motivating the team and individual members. You are expected to be familiar with objective and development settings and be able to demonstrate the firm\'s values and strategy to your team. Key Generic Operational Tasks *Maintain existing management tool framework ensuring 100% availability of tools for use by the Service Delivery Team - Box Tone, Blackberry and GOOD consoles and Quest messaging tools etc. Staying abreast of changing technologies and best of breed solutions that improve Deloitte monitoring and reporting capabilities , making sure that this is cascaded through the teams *Conduct quarterly team, vendor roadmap and planning sessions (where appropriate) *Run weekly team meetings, listing minutes and actions and following these up *Utilise monitoring tools to collate and produce accurate long term statistics / benchmarking - per team and platform *Manage/monitor day to day usage of management tool framework by Service Delivery teams ensuring systems are correctly and consistently used *Provide or contribute to In-house training on current technologies on an ad-hoc basis *Produce or contribute to regular Executive Summary reports for Service Delivery Management team on all key Infrastructure Services (dependant on role and experience) *Ensure that platforms are maintained and patched to latest versions as and when these are released or workaround mitigations are put in-place. Under no circumstances should un-patched / un-secured platforms be deployed / operated within the live environment. *Manage platform lifecycle process - including the installation or decommission of platforms / applications sets within Deloitte standards *Maintain an accurate task list of operational requirements and where appropriate manage priorities. *Regular audit of platform documentation to ensure information is current and accurate *Ensure regular checks are performed on the Change Management Database (CMDB) and validate the integrity of platform assets by running weekly/monthly reports and ensuring appropriate changes are carried out. Skill Profile *Deep understanding of Unified Communications: OCS R2 / Lync 2010 with voice integration experience. *Excellent Exchange 2003/2007 and 2010 Configuring, Messaging, Administrator & Unified Messaging experience *Blackberry and GOOD mobility device and platform administration and design within a secure environment *Good Networking: TCP / IP / DNS / DHCP / SIP / TLS, Virtual Private Networks VPN, MPLS, Load Balancing *Security: Network and Application Security, Firewall technologies, SPAM, Anti-Virus, SMTP Security *Relevant experience with communications protocols such as H323 and *SIP *SIP Trunks *PBX technologies - Understanding basic administration and basic routing *Preferably hold a solid understanding of comprehensive multi-vendor UC solutions including, Polycom, Mitel, Siemens etc. *Collaboration (Presence, Microsoft OCS/Lync integration) *Collaboration (Conferencing, Web, Video, Audio) *PSTN Gateway *Traffic analysis & Reporting Essential Qualifications *Certified in Exchange 2010 and Lync 2010 (Voice specialisation of preference) *ITIL V3 *Prince 2 Desired Qualifications MCSE Windows 2008 or equivalent that demonstrates that the individual is proficient in Microsoft technologies MCITP, MCTS Lync Personal attributes *Thorough, demonstrates attention to detail *Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision *Organized and able to identify and prioritize work *Supportive and reliable team member *Passionate about providing an enterprise class service *Ability make sure voice of Service Operations is heard in individual project meetings *Able to provide and demonstrate creative and innovative solutions *Team leadership abilities Key competencies *Aptitude for providing exceptional customer service even when the environment becomes fast-paced or intense *Excellent communication skills *Excellent documentation and analytical skills *Good verbal and written communication skills *Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills *Able to work well to aggressive and pressurised deadlines Disposition Essential *Team player (building strong relationships with other support staff is key). *Must appreciate importance of standards and need for long term planning. *Methodical worker *Excellent Time keeper *Logical Thinker *Prepared to be hands on (i.e. Practical) *Flexible working hours *Mandatory joining of a scheduled 24x7 on-call-rota *Self-starter/ initiative *Flexibility and commitment *Customer facing skills Communication *Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both listening and verbal. *Competent in written communication skills along with presentation skills. *Able to effectively communicate technical issues with technical and non-technical audience. *Effectively communicates technical and product knowledge across the organization. *Demonstrates tact and empathy when communicating with business community. *Adapts to changing priorities and maintains a positive attitude. *Effectively uses teamwork skills to interact and collaborate on alternative approaches to issues throughout the organization. *Positively contributes to a high-morale/high-performance team culture, leading by example.
