The Cisco Telepresence Technology Group is the world leader in video conferencing equipment. It designs and develops the most technologically advanced video conferencing equipment available on the market today. The Telepresence Infrastructure team at Langley focuses on video conferencing network infrastructure utilising DSPs, FPGAs and multicore processors to provide the most powerful systems available. They design and develop the vast majority of their hardware and software in-house to obtain the performance and flexibility that is required. Working in a design centre of around 120 people the role will include both hardware architecture/design and long-term technical roadmap for the Hardware group, and to provide technical expertise, lead and guidance as and when required. Requirements: - Self-motivated with excellent communications and ability to work in a team. - Strong systems knowledge with a proven background in complex hardware/software systems. - Comprehensive and first class knowledge across a broad range of hardware and electronics (e.g. high-speed design, signal integrity, FPGAs, x86, DSP, power supplies, backplanes). - Strong understanding of hardware-software interaction and low-level software. - Strong product lifecycle experience (component/supplier evaluation and selection, NPI, sustaining, etc) - Design verification strategies. - DFT/DFM. Desirable skills: - Strong CAD experience (e.g. Cadence, schematic/PCB, SI, HDL, etc). - Mechanical design. For both positions we require a minimum a technician or trade cert and 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Our wages range from $26 to $33 CAD (16 to 20) per hour plus overtime, based on relevant experience, and $5 CAD/hr (3)/hr afternoon shift premium. The primary responsibility of CNC Programmers is to program, set-up and run short to large runs in a timely and efficient manner. We have Machining Centres ranging from 2 to 5 axis CNC Mills & Lathes. For CNC Programmers we require at least 5 years experience programming/utilizing CAM software. Experience with EDM Machines is an asset. The primary responsibility of Manual Machinists is for the Programming, Set-up and Operation of Conventional Lathes, Mills and Drill Presses in a cost efficient and timely manner. Experience with teach lathes and/or complex manual machining an asset. All employees are responsible to perform in-process cleaning and inspection, and communicate and collaborate with other team members when necessary.
