KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: *Dismantling, reporting, fault finding, reassembling and testing of electric motors and generators of all sizes and voltages *Machining using centre lathes, working to drawings, producing drawings of components. *Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection) *Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor. *Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor. *Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis. As an Applications Architect, you will play an integral part in defining and executing the technology roadmap for a national, billion dollar organization. This is a permanent opportunity with interviews scheduled to start immediately. This role is unique because there is quite a bit of technology already being utilized within the organization. The chosen candidate will come in, assess the current state, then recommend changes based on the desired standardization of the technology stack. Additionally, any experience in project planning, estimating, defining standards and leading product efforts is very desirable. This position will report in to the AVP of Applications Development and will be expected to work independently within the enterprise to achieve committed goals. A large portion of the enterprise applications are written in .NET/C# and are being run off of Microsoft SQL databases. Within the technology stack there are several flavors and versions of tools which is where a bulk of the standardization will need to happen. Along with helping standardize the application stack, the applications architect will work closely with the Business Analysts to understand new customer objectives and build out proof of concepts (POCs) based on a standard architecture and goal objectives. Having experience taking business needs and building out prototypes is very important for this role. It is not anticipated this person will be given execution tasks towards project goals, but rather delegate work to an established team for completion. There is a small amount of travel associated with this role. It is predicted to be 1 - 2 weeks every quarter mostly to the Midwest. All travel expenses will be covered.
